Piecing together your dream bathroom design involves a lot of decisions about how and where to invest your money. These three bathroom splurge items are no-brainers for us – they’ll extend the value of your investment, make a lasting impression, and leave you with an inspirational space.
Your bathroom vanity is a great place to make a statement, making it our top bathroom splurge item! The key, of course, is keeping the area clean and functional. We always recommend spending the money for a high quality countertop that is low-maintenance, yet makes a lasting impression when viewed. Don’t plan on forgetting the cabinet below the countertop either. You will be opening and closing the cabinets and drawers of your vanity every single day. Keep in mind that particle board won’t last forever in a damp, bathroom environment.
When selecting your bathroom fixtures, you’re sharing your personality. It’s important to make sure that the fixtures and hardware of your bathroom flows and is cohesive. All of the little details that are often seen as “basic,” are the ones that bring out the personality and flair in your bathroom design. We suggest looking for unique ways to mix things up. Personally, we are currently loving wall lighting sconces for an upscale, traditional look. Our favorite spot for timeless fixtures: Pottery Barn, of course!
It’s not just your flooring that will set the tone for your bathroom, it’s also the careful attention to the smaller details. Shower tile and even wall/backsplash tile are easy opportunities to add an upgraded touch to your bathroom design.
When it comes down to it, if it doesn’t “work” for you, then it isn’t worth it. For example, you won’t care if you have the white flooring of your dreams, if not being able to keep it clean irks you beyond measure. We know there are many choices involved in the process. At Anderson Homes, we pride ourselves on our highly trained and experienced design staff, who are available to all of our clients. They are able to walk you through the process and provide expert opinions. If you’d like more information about building or remodeling with us, please contact us here.
