what does the building process look like?

Since home building is so unique to each client, oftentimes even the process looks a little different for each person. Some clients come to us with a purchased lot and house plans, while others have never looked for a lot, nor have plans. At Anderson Homes, we work with clients beginning in all areas of the process. We recommend that before meeting with us for a consultation, you are able to answer the following questions:

have I met with a financial institution to determine my budget?


are there any deal-breakers when it comes to the search for an available lot? (ex. price, school district, proximity to work)


do i already have house plans or would i like to view a few anderson homes builds before meeting with an architectural designer?


where do i spend most of my time in my home? what aspects are most important to me and my family?

consult

with our owner, Russ Anderson. You'll talk through things like our process, your dreams and desires, budget, and why Anderson Homes could be the perfect fit for you!

blueprints

with our in-house draftsman, Tyler. You'll work to achieve your desired floor plan and exterior elevation, producing a full set of finalized, buildable blueprints. Clients do this by either bringing in their Pinterest inspiration, a plan from the web to reference, or by tweaking one of our tried-and-true Anderson Homes plans.

with one of our designers, Alexis or Jordan. During this consultation, you'll share with us your desires for the house's finishes and features so that we are able to appropriately budget for your home, not something generic.

budgets  &
build specs

with our designers, Russ, and our subcontractors. At Anderson Homes, you don't receive a generic, "bottom line" budget. We provide you with a comprehensive budget, showing you the allotted amount within each line item. Clients also receive a 12+ page document that lists out all of their project's build specifications.

financing 

is one of the final planning steps. Anderson Homes provides you with all of the necessary pieces to set up your construction loan and begin your project.

meet the team

that will play a role in the construction of your home. At this meeting you'll be introduced to your designer, our payables team, and your project manager. You'll leave better understanding the ins and outs of the construction, draw, and selections process.

SELECTIONS

are made with your designer. This is often our clients' favorite part! You'll select all of the exact details for your home at this time.

trim  &  electrical walkthroughs

ensure that your home is truly custom to you. You'll have the opportunity to meet with our sub-contractors on site to flesh out all ideas and plans.

end of construction walkthroughs

give you an opportunity to make sure everything has been completed and that your home is ready for move-in.

move-in day

is the BEST day! You're finally unpacking and settling into your masterpiece.
